Exchanging rubles for baht is one of the first things Russian-speaking travelers and expats sort out in Rawai.
But where can you exchange at a fair rate, avoid hidden fees, and why is it worth trusting a licensed service for rubles to baht in Rawai? Here's what you need to know.
Why Rawai? A Russian-speaking corner of Phuket
Rawai isn't just another Phuket district — it's where Russian-speaking expats and long-stay travelers have settled for years, with Russian voices heard on the street and familiar home cooking on local menus.
Naturally, exchanging rubles for baht is in constant demand here. But as the area's popularity has grown, so has the number of exchange counters offering wildly different rates. How do you avoid overpaying?
How to exchange rubles for baht in Rawai
- Message an EXFM manager on Telegram or WhatsApp with the amount you want to exchange.
- The manager locks in the ruble-to-baht rate before you send funds.
- Send rubles from any Russian bank card to the details provided — no Thai card needed.
- A manager confirms the delivery method available for your location — or visit the EXFM office in Rawai in person.
The exchange runs under Bank of Thailand license No. MC225670007 and AML/KYC standards — the baht you receive is accepted without question anywhere in Thailand's banking system.
Avoiding scams
- Count your cash on the spot — at the office or with the courier.
- Confirm the rate before the deal — EXFM locks the rate in advance and doesn't change it.
- Avoid exchanging with unlicensed individuals — that's a direct risk of losing your money with no recourse.
